'The Manager' Prepare for Inspection
Audience and Aim: This course is aimed at all Managers, Directors and Owners of nurseries as well as Childminders, to enable them to become familiar with the Education Inspection framework. This is a popular course and will give you an insight and awareness of the Ofsted inspection and share evidence with your staff team to enable them to showcase outstanding practice. Includes the New EYFS update 2022
Description
- To become familiar with how the New Education Inspection framework September 2021 will be implemented within the nursery
- To understand the key judgements made at inspection
- Discuss how evidence is collated and the criteria for reaching those judgements
- Discuss ways in which you can showcase practice and get the best from the inspection process
- Review the British values, The Prevent Duty and Cultural capital
- Describe how inspectors will evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding
- Describe the process of critical evaluation
- Explore the new judgement the Quality of Education and how will staff implement this across the nursery
- Plan what questions staff will be asked during an inspection and during the managers meeting
- Working in partnership with parents, the local community and outside agencies

I attended a training session on Zoom with the EY which was very useful preparing for an Ofsted inspection. The training covered all the areas and answered my questions. "The courses offered by EYRS are great for our team because they work around us – which is brilliant especially when in these uncertain times staff numbers on site can be down due to positive tests etc – which makes it impossible for our small team to be able to do 9-5 courses. Lucy Stevens led this course and it was obvious from the beginning how much experience and knowledge she had and was able to share with us. The course is content heavy – because there is so much to cover – but the great thing is Lucy is happy to spend time at the end of the course to open up a group discussion and/or experiences or take a Phone consultation once you have had time to absorb all the information. By the end of the course I felt more confident with how the New Education Inspection framework works, a better understanding of the key judgements made at an inspection, the types of evidence collated and the criteria by the Inspector and ways in which we can showcase our setting and get the best from the inspection process.
