Phonics Phase 1
This course will be exploring the teaching and implementation of phonics within an early years setting and is an hour long
Description
There will be an overview of all phonics phases but a specific focus on phase 1.
We will cover the purpose of phonics, how it is taught, provide you with examples of how phase 1 could be implemented within your setting, as well as an opportunity to plan and evaluate a teaching session.
This course is approximately one hour long and delivered via zoom.

I found this course very informative and easy to follow. Jes made sure we understood what she was discussing at each point and would ask if we had questions. Once the session had finished Jes again asked if we had any questions and answered as best she could. I work in an EYFS setting and will be implementing activities shown by Jes within my setting.

The Phonics Phase 1 course was helpful. The literature and ideas produced to support the course were great and can be used and adapted in the setting to provide early phonics education for each and every child. It reinforced knowledge I already had and gave me new ideas on how to deliver learning.

I recently did the Phonics Phase 1 training and found it to be informative and useful. The training lasted an hour and covered the seven stages in the phase 1 spectrum. There were also useful videos that gave me many ideas about activities and how it can be implemented at my setting with my children.
